This Gift for Peace will provide one refugee in Addis Ababa with six months tailoring and fashion design training. They will be equipped with skills to find work to build their self-esteem and strengthen their financial independence. This gift could help someone like Jasmine¹ (pictured) who attends a sewing class five days a week to support herself, her four children and live with dignity while separated from home.
Behind each gift, there are people with hopes and dreams who deserve to live a life with dignity just like Jasmine. She is a refugee living in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa after she was forced to flee her home because of war. As a mother, all she desperately wants is to be able to support her kids. She shared:
“What I pray is that God will help me get a good life, that I can work, I can have my own income and that I can live in peace in order to continue supporting my family.”
Your Gifts for Peace help people like Jasmine who today attends a sewing class five days a week to develop skills to support her family.
¹Jasmine’s name has been changed to protect her identity.
