When conflict erupted in Rakhine State, Myanmar in August 2017, Rohingya families were forced from their homes to escape brutal persecution and violence. In just a few months, more than 700,000 Rohingya people crossed the border into neighbouring Bangladesh to seek safety.
This gift gives a family the tools and materials they need to have shelter in the refugee camps in Bangladesh. A shelter kit includes a hammer, saw, rope, tarpaulin, and bamboo for structure to build a temporary home for a family. It also includes a steel pan and woven basket for cooking and carrying food.
